7. Important Notes for International Students

  • For the registration procedure, you can apply online first and send us your transcripts and other additional documents as soon as possible. The sooner the better since we will use these to calculate any prior learning, and adjust the amount that you owe on the invoice we will send to you together with your Letter of Offer.
  • When you apply online, please also fax any existing transcripts to 604-687-4262. Alternately, you may scan and email your additional documents directly to us at contact@iamtraining.com.
  • We will accept registration 8 weeks in advance of your program start date (before the term starts). For International students, the Canadian Visa Office requires applications for Student Permits to be submitted at least 6 weeks in advance. Also, because of our limited capacity, early registration is recommended to secure your seat.
  • For International Students, payment via bank transfer is recommended. This page explains the procedures and other information (i.e. our Bank account details) that you will require in order to pay your fees. With a bank transfer there is an additional $20 bank fee. If you choose to pay via credit card there is a 3% surcharge. Transfers are typically the cheaper of the two alternatives.
  • For international students we can only confirm a seat and issue a Letter of Acceptance when we receive registration and tuition for the first Term in full.
  • For that reason we recommend that you provide the registration and 1st term payment at the same time to ensure that you have all of the proper documentation as early on as possible for your Student Permit application.
  • Depending on the country of your origin, payments in excess of this may be recommended since some Regional Canadian Visa Offices base their determination of student intent on the amount of tuition that is paid out initially. You should apply for your Permit no later than the beginning of August to ensure that you allow for the processing time the Canadian Visa Section requires.
